SERIES INFORMATION
The story focuses on Kazuma Azuma, a boy on his quest to create "Ja-pan", a national bread for Japan itself. He initially heads to Tokyo to expand his bread-making horizons at the bread-making chain Pantasia; the story continues with Azuma's exploits with his other coworkers.
CHARACTER PROFILE
Kazuma Azuma
Male protagonist, a bread artisan who dreams of making the perfect Japan. Initially, he doesn't seem very bright, but when it comes to bread he's a genius. (He is knowledgeable about rice because of his grandfather, and Japanese food in general due to further learning and dealing with Japanese restaurant.) Azuma also has solar hands, exceptionally warm hands that allow the yeast to ferment faster and better when he is making his bread. Eternally optimistic and cheerful, he never gets upset from challenges faced in baking competitions, but rather from emotional tragedies. He gets his inspirations for his ja-pan from random sources.
Azusagawa Tsukino
Granddaughter to the owner of the Pantasia chain, and understudy to Ken Matsushiro. She seems to have a crush on Azuma, though it is never explicitly stated. Has difficulty getting along with the rest of the Pantasia-involved Azusagawa family because she is an illegitimate child. She is still very dedicated to the Pantasia chain, seeking out talented new bakers (like Azuma and Kawachi) and has garnered the support of many other characters.
RELATIONSHIP ANALYSIS
In my own observation, Yukino do Like Kazuma in a romantic way. She misinterpret Azuma's actions. For instance, when Azuma ask her out, she misunderstood it and even thinking she was asked out for a date, Well, Knowing Azuma, he didn’t mean it, he just wanted to accompany him to buy the ingredients for his Ja-pan. Not only Azuma have this caring personality, Tsukino too, during the semifinal in the New Comers Battle, Kazuma was so depressed about the thing happen to Kawachi, she decided to comfort him and letting him give up and protecting him instead.
The most cute moments between then is the upcoming Yakitate 25 competition to cheer Tsukino, he decided to give her a ring by putting it in his ring finger (looks like a proposal, well, knowing Kazuma he probably wouldn’t guess that he actually propose to the girl).
As of now those are the only ones I knew since I haven’t finished the manga yet. So just wait, coz theres more to come...
